Movie: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the remake)

Review: The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was highly anticipated. Old fans couldn’t wait to see it. Children were excited to find a new obsession, and turtles were getting new homes.

However, as a fan of the original, it was a complete let down. Megan Fox was way too sexy for the role of April O’Neal. And her part was very minimal anyway.mit reminded me of King Kong, when Naomi had about five lines and the rest was just the same terrified/intrigued expression. The story line was too much for me. If you’re going to remake a movie to appeal to the original audience, stay with the same basic story lines. None of this childhood pet business for me, thanks. The only really good and funny part is Will Arnet’s inappropriate comments.

As a parent (not that I am one), I would never let my child watch this. The story was way too confusing and complicated for a child to follow, the jokes were way over a child’s head, and the new turtles are just.. Creepy.

Seriously, who is your target audience here?

There is a lot of action and explosion, which I guess would appeal to some older men, but that’s not really what the turtles are all about…

Also, WHAT HAPPENED TO SPLINTER? Talk about an unfinished story. Esh!

Rating: At highest, a 3 out of 5 paws.

Food:

Creamy Chicken and Mushroom bake: This was really good. It’s made with a homemade cream of mushroom sauce, and fried chicken. Definately going to add this one to the recipe book. Yum!

Coconut-custard dessert from Angolia: the recipe I used called for WAY too much coconut. Probably have that much would be good, but it was good tasting. It’s sweetened coconut in a custard dessert. Really good, but the texture is off with too much coconut.

I made a Strawberry frozen yogurt too. It was made with strawberries, lemon juice, and plain yogurt. It was VERY sour. Once I added sugar to it, it was edible though.
And the strawberry hot chocolate. You’ll have to bare with it to the very end. It looks really bad until you strain it. It tasted good. I kept waiting for the after taste to hit, but it went down smooth.
